Karri Parent Survey 2026
In March and April 2026, Karri asked parents via the Karri app to share their views on some of the biggest conversations facing school communities and families today.
The result is the Karri Parent Survey 2026, based on responses from 2,780 parents representing more than 4,751 school-going children across South Africa.
The report explores parent views on phones at school, social media age limits, youth banking concerns, education insurance, and household money habits through the Karri Tooth Fairy Index.
37% support a full ban, while 54% say phones should be locked away during the school day.
30% of respondents say children should be 18 or older before getting social media accounts.
Three in four respondents said they do not currently have insurance for their children's education costs.
Keeping money secure, fraud and scams, and overspending.
That's the average payment by the Tooth Fairy reported by Karri parents for visits in 2026.
Conducted in March and April 2026 via the Karri app.
